Either Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco (SFO) is a reasonable airport to fly to. From there, you can either take a shuttle to Berkeley—BayPorter Express is most popular—or you can take BART (the local rapid transit system).
The workshop, as well as the Doctoral Consortium, DCER II, and the workshop on qualitative research methods, will be held at the Clark Kerr Conference Center on the University of California campus (at the corner of Piedmont Avenue and Parker Street). The #7 bus runs through downtown Berkeley, up Durant Avenue, and then over on Piedmont to pass the Conference Center. The fare is $2.00. Walking is of course possible as well. The hotel list gives distances in blocks from hotel to conference.
Parking on campus is scarce. If you plan to commute to ICER by car, you will need a $12 parking permit (available for pickup at the workshop).
